Navegaon Gate at Khadsangi lies at the northern most edge of Tadoba National Park at about 100 kms from Nagpur and about 24 kms from Kolara Gate.

Navegaon Gate is the closest of all park gates from Nagpur.

Navegaon, a small village in Chimur Taluka in Chandrapur District of Maharashtra State, India. Navegaon belongs to the Vidarbh Region of Nagpur Division.

Navegaon village was rehabilitated and a grassland appears on the place where the village existed.

All the villagers from Navegaon (Ramdegi), in Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR) moved out accepting government packages to encourage villages inside wildlife sanctuaries shift.

After 200 families moved out of Navegaon, forest department could free 175 hectares, equivalent to 433 football fields. The area has become completely free from human presence and wild animals have got additional space till Khadsangi.

With no human presence Now, wildlife is roaming freely in the farms that have now turned into meadows.

The areas have developed very well and are comparatively unexplored now.

The Tigers here are shy unlike those in the core area. Moreover, increasing the area increases the chances of more sighting.

The buffer area is also very scenic, with several natural water sources where Tigers come to drink.

Herds of Bison’s, Chital’s, Sambar’s, Nilgai’s and Wild Boars are a common sight in the meadows. Wildlife is seen quenching its thirst at the village lake which was once bustling with people.
